An excerpt from Nhoire History:

Ages ago, when fae were more abundant and magic was practiced without discretion, there was a library full of books, tomes, and scrolls, rumored to hold magic so powerful that it could create or destroy worlds.  Although disputed by scholars as to the actual ability of magic to create worlds, what is not disputed however is that the power contained within is much more powerful than any magic known to Nhoire at this time.

The human king, Baahl, envious of the power wielded by the fae, used the power contained within the library to banish Kaden, lord of the fae, to the land of shadows.  This action led to the Great Fae War, if it could be called that, it was more of a massacre.  Baahl and his wizards tapped the limitless power of the library to counter the magic of the fae, killing thousands. To this day there exists very few fae and those that exist remain in hiding.

After the event of the Great Fae War, King Baahl and his wizards were banished to the land of shadows as punishment for their crimes.  The new king ordered that the library be sealed using the magic contained therein with a seal so powerful it could never be broken.  After the seal was placed the library disappeared from existence.

Many have searched for the library which has been since named “The Library of the Arcane” however none have been able to locate it. There have been rumors of sightings, however upon investigation they have proven to be nothing more than that.  Even if one were to locate the library it would be impossible to enter as the seal comes from within the library itself.

In recent years there have been tomes appearing in libraries around Nhoire that have no author and reference the ancient library.  Some claim this to be a hoax, while others speculate that the library, after centuries of being lost, wants to be found.
